Ivory Aquino is urging the new CEO of Warner Bros Discovery to release the shelved Batgirl movie.
If you didn’t know, the actress was to play Alysia Yeoh, Barbara Gordon’s best friend and the first openly Trans character in a live action DC comic adaptation.
It was recently revealed that there were secret screenings being held at Warner Bros for people who worked on the movie to view Batgirl, which was shelved while in post-production.
Ivory penned an open letter to the WBD CEO David Zaslav to urge him to just release the film.

“Dear Mr. Zaslav, I just read an article @THR about supposed ‘funeral screenings’ of #Batgirl and the possibility afterwards that the film footage would be destroyed.. if this is the case, as one of many who poured our hearts into the making of this movie, I ask that this measure be reconsidered,” Ivory wrote.
The actress noted that although she has tried to be strong “these past few weeks, I’d find myself crying, for lack of a better term, from grief, and tonight was one of those nights.”
She added that if a marketing budget wasn’t in the cards, all the social media chatter around the movie lately, plus all of their supporters from the beginning, has proven that there is enough interest.
“Now, more people know about our labor of love and are eager to see the movie. I do hope you get to read this letter. Consider releasing Batgirl,” Ivory said. “She’s always been an underdog and has nowhere to go but up.”
ICYMI: While there are rumors the film underperformed at an early test screening, this is the reason why the movie was shelved.

As much as I’ve tried my best to be strong these past few weeks, I’d find myself crying, for lack of a better term, from grief, and tonight was one of those nights. As much as Batgirl has been labeled a woke film, it simply came
