For many of us the supply of electricity was not a great concern, but the war in Ukraine, a major blackout in South-Africa, power shortages in many countries, and difficulties in achieving rapid deployment of fast-charging stations has awaked our understanding of just how complex the energy transition process is from conventional propulsion to EV or alternative solutions. All this, without even mentioning industry decarbonization. In this complex equation hydrogen will play an important role and offers a promising solution when considering long term and future generations. Here again a lot of talk about the pros and cons are further fueling discussion and debate, though inevitably countries have no choice but to count on it to reach their energy transition goals. In Europe the EU Green Deal has set the goal for the EU to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990, and become climate neutral by 2050. These goals will only be possible when the optimization of available resources and the deployment of innovative technologies are achieved.
